This 1958 Gold Sovereign from Great Britain features the first definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Mary Gillick, depicting the young Queen facing right with the inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F:D. The reverse carries Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St. George and the Dragon design, one of the most celebrated motifs in British coinage.
