An attractive 1887 Great Britain Gold Sovereign featuring the Jubilee portrait of Queen Victoria. This example is graded PCGS MS64, displaying strong mint lustre and sharp detail throughout, with only light marks consistent with the grade.
Struck during Victoria’s Golden Jubilee year, the obverse shows the crowned and veiled portrait designed by Sir Joseph Edgar Boehm, while the reverse (not shown) bears Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic St George slaying the dragon design. This coin is catalogued as S-3866 (Angled J variety), a sought-after die variety among sovereign collectors.
