A 1727 Great Britain silver coronation medal of King George II, issued to commemorate his accession to the throne.
Graded AU Details by NGC (MI-479/4) and noted as cleaned, this piece retains strong detail with much of the original design still clearly defined. The obverse features a finely detailed laureate bust of George II, with well-rendered hair and drapery, along with clear surrounding legends. Despite evidence of cleaning, the medal presents attractively with good remaining definition and pleasing overall eye appeal.
A historically significant early 18th-century coronation medal, marking the continuation of the Hanoverian dynasty. An appealing collectible for those interested in British royal history and commemorative issues.
