An authentic hammered silver halfcrown of King Charles I, struck during the turbulent years of the English Civil War (1639–1640). This impressive large silver coin has been professionally certified and encapsulated by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) as AU Details – Reverse Tooled, confirming strong remaining detail with noted historical surface work.
The obverse features the iconic equestrian portrait of Charles I on horseback, sword raised, a powerful symbol of royal authority. The reverse (not shown) displays the crowned shields with ornate legend, characteristic of the period. Despite evidence of tooling on the reverse, the coin retains substantial eye appeal, bold devices, and clear legends for its age.
