Cameo Coins was founded in 2020 by Nick Young, a former Metropolitan Police Officer. Nick brings trust, transparency, and genuine expertise to the world of gold and coins.
What began as a personal passion for rare coins after inheriting a collection from his late grandad, has now grown into a respected, family-run business with a reputation for honesty and knowledge. Our small, dedicated team combines over 15 years of hands-on experience in numismatics, bullion, and gold trading.
We’re proud members of the BNTA (British Numismatic Trade Association) and Gold Dealers, allowing us to offer top market rates and instant payments without the middlemen. Our in-house XRF testing technology (one of only a few available in the UK) ensures every valuation is precise, transparent, and trustworthy.
Our Head Numismatist, Tyler, is well-known among serious collectors for his deep knowledge of British milled coinage and his remarkable eye for quality and authenticity. Alongside a small family team, we’ve built a space where expertise and approachability go hand in hand.

Founded Cameo Coins in 2020, in his earlier career he was a Metropolitan Police Officer. He started buying and selling coins on Facebook after he inherited a collection from his Grandad. Rare coins became his passion, and he quickly found that his straightforward and honest approach, was a real asset in the world of gold and coins.
Tyler has had a passion for coins since he was 16 years old, and his experience shows. He has an incredible eye for spotting rare coins and often visits many auction houses including those abroad to see what he can find. Tyler also has a fantastic knowledge on precious metals and conserves coins on a regular basis. Tyler joined the team in 2021 and has been a real asset to the team ever since.
Amy is Nick’s wife, and she joined the business to support Nick when it started going from strength to strength. Amy has a creative flair, and this really shows in the content she creates across our social media channels and the seasonal decorations in the shop. She is also responsible for all the team social events which is great because her ideas always take us on weird and wonderful adventures. Amy is a busy Mum, raising their 2 children so is only in the shop on a part-time basis.
Rhianna is the newest member of the team, joining in October 2025. Rhianna has been in the tech/semiconductor world for most of her career before she decided to make the jump to the Cameo team. Rhianna is responsible for the implementation and running of the CRM system along with the digital marketing and operations systems.
Melissa has been a friend of Nick and Amy’s for a long time, and after many years in the travel industry, she decided it was time for a career change. Melissa joined the Cameo Coins team just before the shop opened to the public in 2024. Melissa’s role is mainly behind the scenes on the stock and operations side, including sorting and completing eBay sales and post (a never-ending task). The business could not run without Melissa as she ensures everything in the background runs smoothly.
Kerry joins us from the travel industry, where she spent the last 9 years as an office manager for a coach hire company. While the world of coins and jewellery is new territory, her exceptional organisational skills and friendly, approachable nature make her a brilliant addition to the team. Kerry will be heading up our jewellery sales on eBay, as well as helping out on the counter.
